Hey!

Welcome to my site! I post about iOS development and triathlons.  Click 'About' to learn more about me!

Hello World!

Hello World!

Bit of a cliche title I know but how could I resist?  Anyway welcome to my website where I'll be discussing my experiences as an iOS developer and my adventures as a triathlete.  I'll give a quick introduction of myself, but definitely check out my posts specifically about iOS dev and my triathlon career for more details on those!  (Coming Soon!)

I have been programming since I was in middle school and my love for coding definitely stems from my (unhealthy at times) passion for video games.  However, as I learned more and progressed through the computer science program at Northeastern University I found my passion in iOS development.  If I were to sum up my love for iOS dev, I would say it's because I love creating experiences that can be interacted with on such a personal level.  Very few platforms allow such a deep experience through touch gestures and interactive environments like iOS does. Through the Northeastern Coop Program I have been fortunate enough to work at RueLaLa as well as Starry Inc. as an iOS developer.  I have met so many great mentors during my time at university as well as in the industry and many of my tech posts will certainly be influenced by their teachings.

As for triathlon, I had never heard of one when I started at Northeastern in fall of 2014, but after breaking my racket during tennis tryouts I was left looking for a sport.  I tried everything from rock climbing to paintball but teams either weren't impressed by me or I wasn't feeling it, until I went to the new members meeting for the triathlon team.  A week later I was racing my first triathlon as a Husky at Buzzard's Bay and from then on I was absolutely hooked.  Jump to fall of 2017 and I have competed in 30 triathlons and many other road races.  I also picked up my Ironman Coaching certification and served as President and Coach of the Northeastern Triathlon team during the 2016 - 2017 season, during which our Men's team secured 2nd place and our overall team was awarded 3rd place in the NECTC.  But enough bragging, if you'd like to read more about my background in iOS or triathlon, checkout the respective posts where I delve into the details. (Coming Soon!)

I am thrilled to share my journey and would love to hear from you guys!  I am always excited to hear about new app ideas or other iOS news and I am always looking for new athletes to coach and training buddies to ride with, so feel free to reach out and say hey!
